| Things That Go Bump In The Night |
The Beating of the heartOut in the darkness of the woods near my home there is the sound of a dimembodied heart beat. It travels upon the wind. What could be causing this sound, cound it be the loss of someone near and dear or is it the sound of fear, comng from those who are afraid of things that go bump in the night?11:31 - Tuesday, October 21, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentMore Haunted HappeningsI visited a small older home not too far from where I live that is going to be torn down soon. Made me kind of sad as I walked up to the old ramshakled little house. As I walked up onto the porch and peered into the window, and cold wind came from within the house. Now I don't know what would have casued such an event to occur, because there has been no breeze stirring today and it was 100 degrees today, and maybe 90 in the shade. It was dark within this little house yet I could see some type of light moving in a corner of the small living room. Then it appeared down the small hallway, which was right off the small living room. If someone or something was there, well, I decided to leave it alone. For now. 09:53 - Monday, June 16, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentFright Walk at Santa CruzOkay I feel the need to share. Recently on a small vacation my partner and I went to Santa Cruz Beach/Boardwalk for a little fun in the sun. Okay we did not hit the beach but spent time on the boardwalk. I've not been in years and it was cool to be back. I remember being obsessed with this place after seeing the movie "The Lost Boys". As we walked up and down the boardwalk I kept hoping the the Frog Brothers would make their appearance. Ha-Ha! Anyway after walking up and down the boardwalk people watching, my partner and I kept eyeing the Fright Walk. I've never been in this particular haunt so I did not have any expectations. We paid our $8.00 ($10 if we did not use the coupons they gave us.), got the usual words from the workers : "don't touch the props, keep your hands out in front of you, and no getting your entrance fee back, no refunds!" That either meant it was super scary or super lame. Well I was looking to have a good time so in we went. Of course what you get when you get when you first go in is pitch black so I took a moment to get my eyes to adjust. It was dark, spooky, with great sound effects and nice visuals. Plus you have the added affect of funhouse mirrors. And yes a few times I spooked myself due to my own reflection! I did get turned around a bit due to the mirrors but it was all good. We ended up leaving laughing and drenched in sweat. But it was totally worth it.07:21 - Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentHaunted Happenings #3Yesterday I recieved another gft from my friend in the bay area. The items in question were that of a wedding dress and a tux. Now I am not too sure of the complete story attached to this garments. My friend has informed me that these clothes have some serious history. So far nothing has occured. Since I do have two mannequins to dress (1 male and 1 female) these outfits will get spcial treatment and displayed well. Futher information when it becomes available.08:48 - Sunday, April 27, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentHaunted Happenings #2As mentioned in HH #1 I have been adding things to my home that may or may not have spiritual energy attached to them. Well a good friend of mine brought me a true treasure he picked up at a rummage sale in San Francisco. It was filled with all kinds of cool junk! One item worth mentioning was a beautiful antique brooch in the shape of a dragon. I took it out, cleaned it up and put it on an old top hat that I have. The thing that interests me is the fact that it almost vibrates with energy. More info as it makes itself known.09:43 - Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentHaunted HappeningsSo it is time to update this blog. I have a new addition to my haunted family in the way of a chair. Now am sure you are thinking "ooh scary...what is the deal with a scary chair?" Well folks I bought it an estate sale. The lady I purchased it from was happy to see it go. The chair had been in her family for over 120 years. It had been passed between her brothers and sisters for the past 10 years. She had had enough. I can understand why. Since bringing it home, I have been hearing music, not sure of the time period really, and smell a faint scent of perfume. Sometimes I hear a humming. Now all these things aren't that freaky. The other night I decided to move the chair out into a small storage room, located outside of my house. Yeh a couple hours later, it was back inside the house where I had originally put it! I guess whomever is attached to the chair, likes it right where it was. So I guess that is where it will stay. had a psyche friend of mine come to the house have see what they c ould tell me about the spirit. She stated that the spirit is friendly and likes my lil old home, and prefers to have her chair lieft right where it is so "she can look outside". So I guess the chair will remain where it is.10:50 - Monday, April 21, 2008 - comments {0} - post commentMERRY CHRISTMASJust around the corner...in just a few short hours...Christmas will be here...soon little ones shall be put to bed awaiting Santa's visit. HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A SUPER 2008 TO ALL!! 05:37 - Monday, December 24, 2007 - comments {0} - post commentTis the season for...Deck the Halls with bones and spiders...fa la la la la...la la la la So here we go. Another holiday season is sonn to be over and done with. What kind of tales are their for this time of year. Well here is one that I am sure will give you an extra chill during the holiday season. It was a cold winter night, not unlike any that has been seen before. I was traveling down Forest Pine Road in Chattsworth California, pop about 350 people. And yes that includes the folks buried there. All was fine and dandy till I came to a fork in the road. My mapping device was not showing a fork in the road. So do I go to the left or to the right...hmmm. I decided to chance it and go right. About 20 minutes later I was engulfed in fog. We are talking pea soup, can't see 5 feet in front of me fog. There was, also, a glow to it, yet there were no street lights to speak of. About 30 minutes into this "adventure", I stopped the car and pulled over. I decided to turn around and go back the way I came. I traveled back about 40 minutes but did not come to the fork in the road and the fog was even thicked than it had been before. This is rediculous! I pull out my phone and of course can get no signal! And it is so very quiet. I never knew that quiet could be so loud. I could hear my own heart beating fast. What to do... After a few moment I got back into my car. Somehow I have to get back to where I was. I continue forward, hoping that I mght come to a gas station, house, something. About an hour and a half later I finally see lights. Headlights coming toward me in the fog. I flashed my lights to them and they did the same...funny at the exact some time as I did. I continued forward as did they. Very strange. About 20 minutes later I came face to face with....me. It was like staring into a mirror. I/we walked to the front of our cars. I/we reached out to one another. There was a flash and then...gone...nothng. I found myself alone and pulled over at the side of the entrance to the freeway heading back to Fresno...what the hell just happened... In the distance I hear sleigh bells and the faint sound of someone up in the clear night sky saying "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good FRIGHT!" 10:13 - Monday, December 17, 2007 - comments {2} - post commentHappy Holidaze or is it HorrordazeFor those that read Hobbs Grove does Chrstmas as well. I have been hoping the owners would take the holiday to the dark side but oh well they insist on making it all sugar and spice and everything nice...ugh. Anyway this is not what this blog is supposed to be about. So here it goes... Christmas of 1953 was the start of it all. The Place: A quiet stretch of Whitesbridge Road in Fresno California It was a terrible accident. A young girl was traveling down this road by car when she encountered the Central Valley's nasty and thich as pea soup tully fog. The visibility was nill. She struck a phone post and was killed instantly... Fast forward to present day. When the fog gets to be just about right, you can hear the sound of the impact of the car htting the pole. You can also see her headlights, when no other cars are present... They say that when someone dies before their time and is "taken out of the picture" of life. Sometimes their spirit will be stuck, not realizing that they have passed. Maybe this is a case of that. 09:53 - Monday, November 26, 2007 - comments {0} - post commentHaPpY HaLlOwEeNI could not let this evening go by without a tale fitting to the horrorday. This is one that comes to you from a tale of the past. A place not far from me in a small town called Clovis. For further information on this story go to www.screamifyoucan.com You shall find out more about the Andelberry Estate and its many ghostly in habitants. For years this was run as a Asylum. Many of the patients have yet to leave. Within the walls of the home, located near the Asylum, there are many ghosts as well. One of which is a little girl named Mary who like to play little pranks if you go to her room. Recently a local new station went to the Andelberry Estate. They took several pictures and video. They came away with lots of evidence that showed that so mething was afoot there. 12:00 - Wednesday, October 31, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentThe CoCo Palms ResortWhat an amazing place...well it was until a terrible hurricane hit the island a few years ago. But if all goes to plans it will reopen in 2009. But I digree once again. I do suggest checking out info on the Coco Palms via the internet. I took a Movie Tour to see this place that is falling apart. What I fould was a place rich in history. The movie, BLUE HAWAII starring Elvis Presley, was filmed there. Just the thought of being in this place where the "King" was a cool feeling. (Not that I am a big Elvis fan) as the tour group wandered the property, I could almost see the resort in its big day, bustling with tourists from all over the world. I did take some photos which I will try to post in the near future. Some of the photos did have some interesting things to show...02:47 - Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentAloha...BOO!Aloha from Kauai. Just got here yesterday and trying to get the feel of things here. Currently staying in Hanalei...small town...quaint and kinda quiet. WHile traveling on our way here we came upon an old but spread out resort called the Coco Palms. It looks like nature is doing this one thriving resort in...kinda sad really, but I am hoping to check it out and see if there is anything going on with that place. Also gonna check out a couple of the small cemeteries located along the one and only highway here on the island. I will let ya'll know more as I find out what is up. FYI when I do return to the mainland there will be an added edition to my family. Her name is Evelyn. I have had requests for pictures of Abigail, but for some reason she does not want to be photographed. Sorry Susan but she is a stubborn lil girl. 05:41 - Monday, October 1, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentSomething really sweet but freeky...So this morning I got up to find that Abby decided she did not want to be on her customary spot. she was sitting on the sofa but the interesting thing was there was a strong scent of roses around her. This had not occurred before. My roommate is a little freaked at the moment. I put Abigale back in her place and the scent of roses has gone away. She has been a mischievious little scamp...hehe09:14 - Sunday, September 16, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentAn Update on the 7/15/07 Blog "Drip, Drip, Drip"Not being at work today, thank you Mr Migrain, I recieved a call from a co worker to fill me in on an experience in the rest room. He walked in to wach his hands before lunch, and not only did he get water from the sink he was at but the other three decided to share as well. Whatever is going on in there, the bathroom spirit is not following the "Go Green" way of things that Macy*s is trying to uphold.09:34 - Sunday, September 16, 2007 - comments {0} - post commentAbigale's story...As per the request of a faithful reader (thank you Susan!) I am afraid I know very little about Abby. She came to me with this information. She was part of an estate sale and the purchaser had bought a trunk filled with various items, including Abby. I guess lil Abby had not seen the light of day for many years for she was in a terrible state. Well then person I bought her from, took her to a doll hospital and had her fixed up. WHile in the previous owners home he did state that she liked to be on a shelf all to herself. Plus she had a habit of making his car keys disappear. Both of which I can now relate to. Sorry her sotry wasn't more exciting but that is all I know, except she is now a part of my family. Maybe you can go on Ebay and a new family memebr to your family,06:17 - Thursday, September 13, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentA good friend...This evening I had a friend come over who also has a special gift of sensing things in objects. I had her over to see if she could tell me anything more about my lil Abby. She picked up the doll and held it for awhile. A lot of images came to her and they were all jumbled up. From what she gathered Abby has had a long life. My friend said she saw a lot of images. Apparently lil Abby has been with quite a few families over the past 80 years or so. She saw many hands holding Abby. The last owner had Abby from when she was a little girl up to when she sold the trunk with the items within. And thus went from the Ebay seller to me. I hope to give her a good home for a long time to come. As long as she stops sending me on a wild goose chase to find my house keys...haha09:34 - Thursday, September 13, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentAbigaleWell Abby decided to be a bit more mischievious last night. I decided to make her the center of a display as part of the decoration for Halloween in my house. Well after setting it up, Abby in the center surrounded by the usual Halloween type decor, including a couple of other dolls and a candle lamp. I left and came back about an hour later and found everything that was around her had been move to other locations in the room. I guess she did not want to share the space. I tried again, this time just placing a candle right by her. Again she is not wanted to share. So she is now by herself and I think she is quite happy.10:29 - Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentEbay sells spooky items!I admit I spend too much time online. I study and research various things. Like many I spend time IM-ing people, email, pay bills, ect. But my true weakness is Ebay. SO many wonderful items to buy and sell. Well if you type in haunted items you will come up with all kinds of treaures. Sometimes it is worth it just to read to stories behind the items. Haunted Dolls are a big hit. Just for fun I decided to bid on an old looking doll. I put in a small bid as the bid was starting at 1 cent. I won it and paid my $4.76 plus shipping. I just got the item and she is a sweet lil thing. It is exactly what you might expect for a haunted item. Ghosts seems to like to attach their energy to dolls and jewelry. Since bring her into the house, my house keys which are kept by a hook right by the front door, have been found in other places in the house. But so far that is the only thing I have noticed. I have her, okay so I did give her a name, her name is Abigale, it just seems to fit. She has been a member of my family now for about a week. So far so good.12:34 - Tuesday, September 11, 2007 - comments {0} - post commentStill Summer in the Valley but Halloween is all around usI think I mentioned this before but I have been very lucky to work with some wonderful people at a seasonal place known as Hobbs Grove. It consists of a Haunted Forest, Hayride, and House. For the first few years I was the ghostly spirit of the Forest Graveyard. After a few years of this my ole bones could not take the chilling temps and I moved my ghostly behind into the Haunted House, playing a few fun characters. I digree becuase this blog is suppoed to be about actual paranormal events...right? Well after many years (yes I can say that now as Hobbs opened in 1999) After the thousands of folks that have come out to the Grove, each one of those "willing victims" left a lil bit of their energy behind. I believe that many of the "things" that have occured and still occur at the Grove may have something to do with the stirring up of the energy out at the Grove. And what I mean by things being stirred up I mean by technical issues...lights not working, sounds issues, missing items that were there one moment and then gone the next. Yessir I can't wait to see what happens this year...lol08:19 - Wednesday, September 5, 2007 - comments {1} - post commentYou are a bold person...afraid of nothingThis entry is deadicated to a trip I took back in 2004-2005 across this great land of ours. My travels took me to a place I had heard so much about and yet had never been, but, felt a strong connection to... Savannah Georgia. A city that is basically "built on one giant graveyard" When I arrived in this culturally rich city I was blown away by the people, arcitecture, food, sounds, and feelings abound. It was almost overwhelming... But let me share a tale with you... The evening I arrived I decided to take a wlaking tour of some of the older parts of Savannah. The tour guide was full of stories of the old stately houses that surrounded the tour group. Many started at him saucer eyed, I simply felt content and unease at the same time. We came to a tall, three story home that had many a tragedy attached to it. One of which was the death of a young man, who for some reason has decided to stick around. For some reason I felt the need to address our guide and those in the group that it was okay. The man had died doing somehting that he loved which was horseback riding. He was taking part in a fox hunt and his horse got spooked. He did not suffer and it was over rather quickly. Well that spooked the guide. He pulled me aside and asked how I knew that. I said simply said that "I did not know how I just knew". Folks kind of gave me a wide berth after my revelation. I think about it now and he ,the spirit, felt the need to share his story with me. Thank you for the story, Mr Spirit. He now just keeps an eye on his homestead. He isn't doing anything he just wanders his home make sure everything and everyone is ok within. 02:53 - Wednesday, August 22, 2007 - comments {0} - post comment
